Spa / Hot Tub Deliveries & Istallations

Spa /Hot Tub Delivery on Spa Dolly

Should you require a spa/hot tub delivery service in the Kent, Surrey or Sussex area please call to discuss price as this will vary dependent on how easy or difficult it will be to deliver your tub to the exact area you require.

For a Free No Obligation Quotation call me on 07876 593580 or email phil.barlow@hotmail.co.uk

A 'Spa Dolly' as pictured above will be used if you have sufficient access to wheel your spa to your required area. Fencing , gates, gutters & down pipe may need to be removed to allow access. However, if  access to your required area is restricted you may need to consider your spa to be crane lifted into position, which will of course affect the price of the delivery & installation.
We would need to carry out a site survey to view the access prior to quoting.

Ground Works:
Your spa will need to be installed on a solid level foundation to be able to, not only withstand the weight of the tub, but the weight of the water and people sitting in the tub. If there is an insufficient foundation the tub will move and tilt, leading to an uneven water level which will place stress on the spa shell and damage it.

A 4 inch concrete base is recommended or if going for decking, as a general rule,  the cross members supporting the deck should be 4" x 2" and no more than 18" apart. If suspending your tub make sure it is robust enough bearing in mind the weight when full of water and people sitting in the tub. Please also remember to leave access points for the spa engineer.

We can carry out the foundation works for you should you not already have a preferred builder and would need to carry out a site survey prior to quoting.

Electrics:
You will need a suitable power supply to run your spa which must be hard- wired on its own fused spur back to your house consumer unit. The spa must not share a supply with any other appliance and should be protected by a sufficiently rated MCB ( Mains Circuit Breaker) and should also cover the maximum amperage pull of the spa plus 25 per cent.
The spa should be protected by a trip switch - RCD (Residual Current Device), against earth faults.  This prevents danger of electric shock from damaged or water logged cables and connections.
The external cable should be protected either in PVC pipe and buried under ground or armoured cable. Your electrician will calculate and advise on  the size of the cable required.
A suitable waterproof rotary isolation switch is also recommended so that the hot tub can be isolated so that emergency or service works can be carried out by  switching the rotary switch to off. This must be installed more than two metre's from the tub so as bathers in the spa cannot be able to touch the switch.

A suitably qualified electrical contractor should be hired to carry out the above works, test and certificate to ensure the works are Part P compliant.
